Questions

Frequently asked

How long should a title tag be?

Aim for about 50 to 60 characters, but the real limit is width. Google cuts desktop titles at roughly 600 pixels, so a title full of wide letters like W and M truncates sooner than one with narrow letters. This tool measures the actual pixel width in Arial 20px, the font Google uses.

How long should a meta description be?

Keep the key message in the first 120 characters and the whole description under about 155 to 160 characters, or roughly 920 pixels on desktop. Google may rewrite descriptions, but a clear, specific one is used far more often and also gives AI assistants a clean summary.

Why does Google show a different title than mine?

Google rewrites titles that are too long, stuffed with keywords, duplicated across pages or that do not match the page. Keep each title unique, describe the page plainly, put the brand at the end and make sure the H1 says the same thing.

Do AI assistants use my title and meta description?

Yes. Assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews often show the page title as the source label and lean on the description to judge relevance. A specific, factual description makes your page easier to cite. Check the body copy too with the Answer Readiness Grader.

What size should my social share image be?

Use 1200 by 630 pixels in JPG or PNG, under 5 MB, with key text away from the edges. That 1.91 to 1 ratio works for Facebook, LinkedIn, X and most messaging apps. This tool never loads your image, so check the final crop on the live page.

Does this tool fetch or store my page?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is fetched from your site. Your last inputs are saved in this browser only, and share links keep them after the # sign, which is never sent to a server.
